ASTA Clusters

In this dance based cluster, students will learn many genres of dance including: line dance, Zumbercise, latin, and hip-hop. Students will gain an understanding of the importance of maintaining a healthy heart through exercise. In addition, students will develop leaderships skills, accountability, mental stamina through learning choreography. 

In this art based cluster, students will explore creative projects that include: Arts and Crafts, Scrapbooking, Nature Crafts, Animal Art, Jewelry Design, and Cosmetology.  These programs enrich creativity and promote engagement through learning various forms of art. Students will be able to understand the importance of organization while also enhancing their technical skills. 

In this science based cluster, students will develop an understanding of the world we live in through: Fun Science, Recycle Treasure, Interstellar Space, Artsy Science, and Woodshop. These lessons will allow students to use hands on skills as-well as critical thinking to infer, predict, and communicate experimental results.

In this art based cluster, students will have the opportunity to let their imagination run wild. They will learn the basics of: Drawing/Sketching, Pastels, Water Colors, Acrylic Painting, and Mixed Media. This class will provide students a way to learn about cooperative learning, problem solving and interactive lecture demonstrations. 

In this mind based cluster, students will exercise their brain through activities such as: Team building, Table Top Shop, Tactical Games, Mind Games, and Debate/Speech. This will provide students the opportunity to work in a collaborative and cooperative group setting while also promoting an improving productivity, efficiency, and critical thinking skills.

In this math based cluster, students will participate in various projects: Chemical Adventures, Gadgets and Gizmos, Bridges, and Architectural Design, that involve the exploration of the world we live. These lessons are a great way to get students excited about STEM topics that are designed to enhance students’ problem-solving skills, creativity, and teamwork abilities. 

In this sport based cluster, student will have the opportunity to improve coordination and concentration skills through playing: Soccer, Football, Kickball, Dodgeball, Basketball, Handball, and Jump Rope. Students will learn the rules of the game while also building their social skills, strength, flexibility and endurance. In addition, students will understand and value good sportsmanship while having a fun sports experience.

In this art based cluster, students will study the world we live in through: Outdoor Art, A Day Away, Appeteasers, Unseen Cuisine, and Sweet Creations. These lessons offer the opportunity for student to learn about different cultures while also sharpening their communication skills.

In this media based cluster, students will have the opportunity to learn about technology and how it is used as a tool to gain knowledge. Students will be creating various projects through: iPads, Audio Production, Ebook Creator, iMovie/iMotion, and Stop Motion Animation. These lessons will offer students a way to be creative and expressive. 

In this performance arts based cluster, students will be encouraged to let their imagination run wild while also learning about collaboration through: Theater, Music/Sound, Playwriting, Dance/Movement, Special FX, and Improv. These lessons will enrich communication skills, confidence, and creative problem-solving abilities.
